CLdN Expands Services Between Santander, Liverpool And Dublin

As announced in December 2022, CLdN started its upgraded service from Santander to Dublin and Liverpool

The new twice-weekly schedule from Santander to Dublin doubles capacity on this service in response to growing demand. The increased frequency means quicker turnaround times for customers and the ability to deliver cargo more flexibly throughout the week.

The upgrade has been facilitated by CLdN company Seatruck Ferries starting operations from its new premises within Dublin Port on 23 January, adjacent to CLdN. Spanish cargo for the UK market is now trans-shipped in Dublin onto the Seatruck Ferries regular shuttle service to Liverpool, into their dedicated terminal.

  • In January 2023 a new twice weekly schedule from Santander to Dublin will double capacity on this service, in line with the growing demand.
  • From this date Spanish cargo for the UK market will be transhipped in Dublin onto the Seatruck Ferries regular shuttle service to Liverpool.
  • To enable these transhipments but also to accommodate growing market demand, Seatruck Ferries are at the same time deploying an extra vessel, SEATRUCK PENNANT, onto their successful Dublin – Liverpool route.
  • “This change will benefit customers using both services with increased capacity, simplified customs procedures and logical through shipment options. Thanks to the very low carbon footprint of the combined unaccompanied RoRo fleet (~37 g/ton_km in 2021), shipping with CLdN and Seatruck Ferries is a much greener solution compared with landbridge or road transport,” says the CLdN press release. “As end customers demand more sustainable shipping solutions the importance of longer sea crossings which reduce road mileage will become ever more important.”

CLdN to start of a new RoRo-service: a triangle trade between Leixões (PT) – Dublin (IE) and Liverpool (UK)

With effect from week 37, CLdN will operate one sailing per week from Leixões to Dublin, followed by calling Liverpool.

  • Schedule: Leixões (Friday) – Dublin (Monday) – Liverpool (Monday) – Dublin (Wednesday) – Leixões (Friday).

STENA EUROPE Returns To Scheduled Services On Rosslare – Fishguard

Following an extensive refit programme at shipyards in Turkey and Liverpool, the STENA EUROPE has resumed its scheduled sailing services on the Rosslare – Fishguard route.

The upgrade programme took longer than had been anticipated but as Stena Line’s Trade Director (Irish Sea South) Ian Davies said, the upgraded vessel will now offer a significant improvement in customer care, Ian Davies said: “I know there has been a certain amount of frustration with the delayed return of the Stena Europe, a very popular vessel with both our freight and travel customers. We had planned for a number of improvements and additions throughout the ship both of a technical and customer-facing nature, but we did encounter a number of challenges which impacted on our works delivery schedule for which I’d like to apologies to our customers. “

“Apart from a number of technical upgrades our freight customers will be particularly pleased to hear that we have altered our deck height to be able to accommodate the increasing trend for high sided trailers and for our travel customers we have also added a new Hygge Lounge which offers luxury reclining seats set in a private, ultra-stylish but cosy surrounding, an upgraded Retail Shop and a refurbished Happy children’s play area to name a few changes.”
