Grimaldi Group has performed very strongly in the first half of 2018:
Productivity has been improved with the lengthening programme, which is complete at the end of the year: six lengthened vessels = an extra 6,000 lane metres = equivalent of two vessels.
Finnlines is reshuffling its services between Denmark and Finland and provides since 28 May a direct service between Helsinki and Aarhus.
There will also be a direct connection between Aarhus and Uusikaupunki, which offers new possibilities for cargoes between Denmark and Western Finland. Turku will be available via transhipment in Travemünde
The new weekly service between Travemünde and Aarhus is especially suitable for all kinds of rolling cargo, particularly for high and heavy cargo unable to cross the Kiel Canal bridge due to weight limitations.

Further Capacity Increase At Port Of Kapellskär (Stockholm)
On May 8 the Finnlines vessel FINNSWAN called for the first time at the new pier at the Port of Kapellskär. This will increase the freight capacity by almost 30% on the Kapellskär – Naantali route.
She will operate together with FINNFELLOW. Cargo capacity will rise from 5,450 lane metre to 7,000.

”The year has started extremely well with increased revenue, EBITDA and net result,” said Emanuele Grimaldi.
The January–March 2018 result for the period increased by 48.6% to EUR 16.5 million. EBITDA came to EUR 34.3 million and revenue increased by 11.6% to EUR 134.9 million.
Finnlines’ EUR 70 million Energy Efficiency and Emission Reduction Investment Programme was launched with the lengthening of four vessels in 2017, with an option of additional two. Finnlines has now decided to exercise the option for the lengthening of the two additional vessels: FINNBREEZE and FINNSEA. This will be done in 2018, Q4.

New Finnlines service between Scotland and Spain
On March 1, Finnlines launched a new ro-ro connection between the Scottish port of Rosyth and Bilbao. The new service is added to those that already link Bilbao with Belgium, Finland, Estonia, Russia, the UK and Sweden.

The full year 2017 result was EUR 82.7 (68.1), an improvement of +21%.The Finnlines fleet is being expanded.

The Finnlines fleet saw a reshuffle after the purchase of EUROPALINK, last week.
At the end of April, NORDLINK, already renamed FINNSWAN, will move from the Malmö–Travemünde route to the Naantali–Långnäs–Kapellskär route.
She will be one of the first ships of this cargo capacity (4,215 lane metres) to service the Finnlines customers.
Before, she will undergo refurbishment in the public areas.
Finnlines Plc’s fully owned Swedish subsidiary, Rederi Aktiebolaget Nordö-Link, has purchased the ro-pax EUROPALINK from the Grimaldi Group. The last few years this ferry was active in the Mediterranean, although she is a sister of the Star-class ro-pax ferries (FINNSTAR, FINNMAID, FINNLADY, NORDLINK).
She will be fitted with scrubbers and get an upgrade of her public spaces in mid-March. She will then sail under Swedish flag on the Malmö–Travemünde route.
