Kerkyra Lines Purchases FLYING DOLPHIN VENUS I

According to recent information, Kerkyra Lines has proceeded with the purchase of the hydrofoil vessel FLYING DOLPHIN VENUS I. The same sources indicate that FLYING DOLPHIN 17 will also join Kerkyra Lines.

The vessel has been renamed PAXOS ISLAND II and is expected to depart for the island of Corfu in the coming days. She previously served on the Piraeus–Aegina–Agistri route and belonged to Aegean Flying Dolphins.

She was built in Georgia in 1981 by Ordzhonikidze Works. Her capacity is 100 passengers, and she operates at speeds of up to 30 knots.

Kerkyra Lines’ IONIAN EXPRESS arrived in Greece

On June 22, 2023, Kerkyra Lines’ IONIAN EXPRESS (ex- ASAKAZE No 5) arrived in Greece.

The ship left the port of Hakodate (Japan) on May 23.

She was purchased from Seikan Ferry in January 2023 and delivered to Kerkyra Lines on March 26, 2023.

She has been serving on the Aomori – Hakodate line since 1998.

The ship was sent to Atsalakis Shipyards for necessary repairs and upgrades.

Kerkyra Lines’ ferry EVDOKIA (300gt/1995) performed her first sailing from Corfu to the Diapontia Islands on March 2, 2021.

EVDOKIA was built in Japan (1995) and her carrying capacity is for 300 passengers and 20 cars.

  • Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö has signed an agreement with Wiklöf Holding Ab to sell its entire holding of 22,429 shares (11.3%) in Alandia Försäkring Plc. The deal will be completed in the next week.

Kerkyra Lines’ EVDOKIA (ex-FERRY MISHIMA) Arrived in Greece

On 12 January, Kerkyra Lines’ EVDOKIA arrived in Amaliapolis (Volos) from Japan and anchored at Kouris Shipyard for conversion.
The small ferry (ex- FERRY MISHIMA) was purchased last September by the Japanese Sakido Kisen Co and began her long voyage – from Nagasaki to Greece – on 7 December 2019.

According to her company, she is not destined for the main Corfu – Igoumenitsa line. She will probably serve the Corfu – Othonoi line.
