Baleària has been awarded the ferry operation between Tarifa and Tangier City by the Board of Directors of the APBA (*).
Baleària had already declared victory on 18 November, but this was only confirmed on 30 November by APBA.
- Baleària will operate berth number 3 in the Port of Tarifa, as well as the corresponding check-in facilities and vehicle boarding areas.
- Contract 15 years.
- Baleària plans to build two electric fast ferries, electrify the ports and install charging devices.
- Shipyard: Astilleros Armon Shipyards.
- Construction time: 2.5 years.
- During this period two transitional fast ferries: AVEMAR DOS (to be re-engined) and JAUME I.
The public tender, launched in February 2024 by the APBA, also included the participation of the shipping companies FRS Iberia Maroc-DFDS and Sercomisa (Trasmapi – Insotel Marine Group)
