SMYRNA DI LEVANTE completed her winter service on the Thessaloniki-Izmir line

Levante Ferries announced that its winter sailings on the Thessaloniki-Izmir line will be completed on December 4, 2022.

The company introduced its RoPax SMYRNA DI LEVANTE in the above line on October 10, 2022 and made 40 trips, laying the foundations for seamless passenger and commercial connectivity between the two countries.

According to the company, this two-month service of the line was useful for the quick restart of the 2023 summer season routes. Levante Ferries will inform about the exact date of the summer season sailings with a future announcement.

Piraeus, October 7, 2022, — inauguration festivities of SMYRNA DI LEVANTE of Levante Ferries.

The fully rebuilt ropax is a new “sea bridge”, connecting Thessaloniki with Izmir for the first time on October 10, 2022.

The interior of the ship was completely redesigned by Mr Apostolos Molindris and his architects’ team and exudes an oriental environment.

Levante Ferries’ aim is to operate the line throughout the year, not seasonal, while operators and market executives estimate that the specific line will manage to strengthen both cities in terms of tourism and commerce.

The journey will last 14 hours at 19 knots. The offered facilities are for 950 passengers (80 cabins, 250 beds and 220 air-type seats). Her garage capacity is for 430 cars or 58 trucks (16m).

According to the company’s programme, the ship will depart form Thessaloniki every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 19.00, while from Izmir she will depart every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 19.00 with a morning arrival at both ports (09.00).

According to the latest information, the new ferry connection between Thessaloniki and Izmir will be launched fall 2022.

So far, it was decided to have one intermediate call to the port of Mytilene. (route Thessaloniki – Mytilene – Izmir).

The aim is to carry trucks cheaply from Izmir either to Thessaloniki and then through the Egnatia motorway to Igoumenitsa port and Italy, or to unload them in Mytilene and transship them to Piraeus for Southern Greece and Crete.

The port of Mytilene will enhance tourism for both countries.

The ship that will be introduced is Levante Ferries’ RoPax SMYRNA DI LEVANTE which is being converted into a ferry that looks like new.
