Leve Ferries’ NISSOS AIGINA chartered to Joy Ferries

On June 27, 2022 the Hellenic Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy decided that Leve Ferries’ NISSOS AIGINA (former MIDSLAND) will eventually serve the Igoumenitsa – Paxoi line.

The ship was initially purchased for the Piraeus-Aigina line and extensively rebuild at Perama into a passenger car ferry. However, plans changed, and her operator decided to charter her to Joy Ferries for 5 years with an purchase option.

The ship will sail to Igoumenitsa on June 30, 2022.

NISSOS AIGINA will enter service in March 2022

NISSOS AIGINA (former MIDSLAND), owned by the Leventakis family, is expected to be introduced on the Piraeus-Aigina line in March 2022.

The ship has already undergone a major conversion and refit at Perama repair zone and will be able to carry 951 passengers and 90 cars.

NISSOS AIGINA was purchased in April 2021 from the Dutch Terschellinger Stoomboot Maatschappij (TSM) and served the Harlingen – Terschelling line since 1994.
