P&O Ferries not welcome in Scottish Green Freeport

Dumfries and Galloway Council has voted to exclude P&O Ferries’ continuing participation in a potential partnership bid for a Green Freeport at Cairnryan.  The council said the ferry firm had “no place” in its plans, after the company sacked 800 staff.

Dumfries and Galloway Council is looking at creating a Green Freeport at Cairnryan, which would have special tax and customs rules. [BBC, 19 August 2021]
