STENA CONNECTA Arrives in Belfast

Stena Line’s STENA CONNECTA has arrived in Belfast on Monday 19 January.

She will soon join her sister ship, STENA FUTURA, on the Belfast – Heysham route and enter service on the 20:30 sailing on Friday 23 January 2026.

Positive Signal from Szczecin: JANTAR UNITY Christened

The christening of JANTAR UNITY in Szczecin marks a major milestone for Poland’s ferry renewal programme.

The LNG-hybrid RoPax is the largest and most modern vessel ever operated by UNITY LINE.

Built by the Gdańsk Ship Repair Yard, part of Remontowa Holding, the ferry underlines renewed momentum in Polish shipbuilding.

A sister ship will follow later this year, with a third unit already confirmed.

Scandlines celebrated the naming ceremony of the battery-powered THE BALTIC WHALE (formerly FUTURA) on 7 January. Godmother is Lykke Friis, Director of the Think Tank Europa.

RoPax Cabo Star Sold in Greece

According to reliable information, RoRo CABO STAR (ex FINNFOREST, ANTARES, built 1988) of Bridgemans Trinidad LP has been sold to Greek interests. Delivery is expected after 12 January.

The vessel is currently operating on the Port of Spain (Trinidad) – Scarborough (Tobago) route. She has been deployed there since July 2017 under a renewed one-year charter agreement with the island nation’s Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT).

Built in Gdańsk, Poland, in 1988 for Fincarriers, CABO STAR has capacity for 130 passengers and 2,500 lane metres, equivalent to approximately 130 trailers.

Construction of New Terminal at Långnäs Port Underway, Completion Expected by 2026
