Recently Rederi AB Gotland said that they are planning for a new ferry line Nynäshamn – Rostock. (“Hansa Line”)
In an interview with Swedish Radio P4, Rederi AB Gotland’s CEO Håkan Johansson said
they are doing intensive preparatory work. “We have aimed to launch the ferry line this autumn.”
The company has been awarded an eco-bonus from the government, with the aim of transferring truck traffic from land to sea, estimated to reduce emissions by about 20%
Consultants of Steerlink Partners have mapped concrete freight flows and had dialogues with large goods owners and transport buyers.

Rederi AB Gotland has started to collaborate with Wallenius Marine to further establish itself in international shipping. Wallenius will take over the operation of ropax VISBY, on charter to DFDS for the Dunkerque – Rosslare route. In the near future the Swedish vessel will be reflagged to Malta.
