On July 27, French PM Jean Castex said that three “rail motorways” will be launched: Bayonne – Cherbourg, Perpignan – Rungis, and Sète – Calais.
Port of Calais has a rail terminal and was anxiously awaiting the confirmation of this project announced previously. In fact it should have been started last December.
Bayonne – Cherbourg will be important for Brittany Ferries’ project. (see earlier news here)
