Molslinjen decided a few years ago to sail to Ebeltoft in weekends and in the summer only. Since that moment, the locals have tried to find an alternative solution.

The Steering Group for “Daily Sailings on Ebeltoft – Odden” has announced they are determined to work towards getting a new ferry company, to operate this link.

The Texelse Courant writes that TESO’s ferry SCHULPENGAT will be laid up in Texel instead of Den Helder. It is expected that she will leave in September, for further service or for scrap.

Veteran ferry LE RIF has been doing sea trials, after having been refurbished in Naples since months and months. When and where she’s going to be deployed is unknown.

Corsica’s “Red” Ferry Company Has The Intention To Become “Green”

Corsica Linea has officially inaugurated the VIZZAVONA on June 5. This ferry, formerly EUROFERRY CORFU, is on long-term charter.The video (in French) shows the event and has interviews with Corsica Linea’s President, Pascal Trojani and CEO Pierre-Antoine Villanova.

In the interview Mr Villanova put a lot of emphasis on the green transition of the company.

• VIZZAVONA is the first ferry on a Corsican ferry route equipped with scrubbers.
• Connecting all the ferries to shore power (starting this project in Ajaccio in 2019).
• LNG as fuel for new ships.

Gelibolu Shipyard has delivered the ferry GELIBOLU and filmed her with a drone before she entered the Turkish Gestaş fleet.
This ferry has been designed by Arti Engineering (Pendik, Turkey).

Together with the arrival of the new ferry, a new port project has been officially launched in the city of Gelibolu. Two terminals with four ramps will be built by ferry company Gestaş. Surface will be 40,000m2.

Gelibolu, also known as Gallipoli, is a town on the Dardanelles Strait.
