ANEK Lines will charter Golden Star Ferries’ SUPERFERRY II
Golden Star Ferries have finally gained approval for the summer service to Crete, after the owner of the ferry company has been on hunger strike end of February. He was waiting outside Shipping Minister Panayiotis Kouroublis’s office for a license to serve a route linking the company’s homeport Rafina with Crete.
The service will be operated by the SUPERFERRY and SUPERFERRY II, from 2 May to 31 October.
Every morning a ship leaves from Rafina, and another from Iraklion. The ships stop in Andros, Tinos, Mykonos, Paros, Ios and Santorini. Arrival is in the late evening.
Following the BLUE STAR PATMOS grounding, Golden Star Ferries’ SUPERFERRY was rerouted from Rafina to Piraeus. SUPERFERRY is now back in Rafina.
Blue Star Ferries have chartered FAST FERRIES ANDROS for the next month.
She will now service the Piraeus, Syros, Tinos, Mykonos route.

During the night of August 30, ro-pax BLUE STAR PATMOS suffered grounding when approaching Ios. Blue Star Ferries reported that 205 passengers and 87 crew were on board. All have been safely brought ashore.
Golden Star Ferries will operate the SUPERFERRY out of Piraeus, to replace the BLUE STAR PATMOS on some islands.
