Ropax SANTOÑA, the second LNG-powered vessel after SALAMANCA, has joined the Brittany Ferries fleet on Thursday 26 January 2023.

This e-Flexer and 11th vessel in the Brittany Ferries will enter service on 1 March 2023 and will operate on the Cherbourg/Portsmouth and Portsmouth/Santander routes.

“Today, we reaffirm our eco-responsible commitment by flying it the French flag and operating it with French sailors,” said Jean-Marc Roué, Chairman of the Brittany Ferries Supervisory Board.

“At this time, bookings are more than 20% higher compared to the same period in 2022. We look forward to building on this momentum. Next year, our rail project between Bayonne and Cherbourg will strengthen our position on the freight market. This launch will be followed, at the end of 2024, by the delivery of two hybrid vessels, which will join the fleet in 2025.”
