Baleària Canarias Adds High-Capacity RoRo Vessel

Baleària has added JOSEFINA DE LA TORRE to its Canary Islands fleet, increasing freight capacity between Cádiz and the archipelago. With 4,000 lane metres and space for up to 280 trucks, the vessel is described as the largest dedicated cargo ship to operate in the Canary Islands.

Built in 2023, the 209-metre vessel is equipped with 230 reefer plugs for the transport of temperature-controlled cargo. Its introduction strengthens Baleària Canarias’ freight services linking Cádiz with Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Palma and Lanzarote.

Baleària Canarias Introduces Fast Ferry PEPITA CASTELLVÍ and RoRo JOSEFINA DE LA TORRE

Baleària Canarias has presented its fast ferry PEPITA CASTELLVÍ in several ports of the Canaries. The 102-metre trimaran will strengthen the triangular route linking Tenerife, La Gomera and La Palma.

The vessel, the former CONDOR LIBERATION, can carry 870 passengers and 250 vehicles at speeds of up to 35 knots.

From 26 June, PEPITA CASTELLVÍ will operate alongside VOLCÁN DE TIRAJANA, increasing capacity and reinforcing connectivity between the western Canary Islands during the summer season.

Baleària Canarias will also expand its freight operations between Tenerife and Cádiz with the addition of RoRo JOSEFINA DE LA TORRE, offering more than 4,000 lane metres of cargo capacity. (ex ABU SAMRAH)
