GNV Grandi Navi Veloci signed a three-month charter contract with the Turkish company Defartes Global Services for the use of the ferry GNV AZZURRA.
She will be used as a floating hotel for the personnel of companies engaged in the work that Turkish Petroleum is carrying out in that stretch of sea.
Cruise ship GEMINI, also used as a floating hotel, is moored next to GNV AZZURRA.
1981-built GNV AZZURRA is the former GOTLAND, WASA STAR, PETER WESSEL, SNAV TOSCANA.
IDTechEx sees green fuels, such as green hydrogen and ammonia, as some of the most promising solutions, with the new IDTechEx report “Fuel Cell Boats & Ships 2023-2033: PEMFC, SOFC, Hydrogen, Ammonia, LNG” predicting that green hydrogen PEMFC (proton exchange membrane fuel cell) and LNG/green ammonia SOFC (solid-oxide fuel cell) markets will grow rapidly at 35% CAGR over a ten-year period.

Åland’s regional government has signed an agreement for traffic with ferry ÅDAN on the Åva-Osnäslinjen with EW Finland Oy, which belongs to the Nordic Jetline group.
ÅDAN, which was built in 2001 and has room for 145 passengers and 42 passenger cars, will start operating Åva-Osnäs in May when the rebuilding of the Åva ferry berth is complete.
